Got a sort of tribute track posting this evening. The lovely lady pictured above is moving from the nations capital, as of tomorrow, and is heading back to family, friends and better fortunes down in Southsea. I guess home really is where the heart is...

A fresh add to my music knowledge base, and I've been jamming this one the TSID soundsystem for a good while since. Doubt I'll ever be able to fully explain what this music does to me, and just does to the soul. But for all the reggae fans out there, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

Sorry people. I've not had much on the player, or on the car stereo this week, and haven't really been feeling very musical at all! Still I do have a good old list of music ready for posting, though I thought I put 'em on the back-burner for a little while longer and instead smash things up with a bloody massive crowd pleaser instead.

I've had a few half started posts lying around for the last week or so. All uncomplete as they've not yet given me the rush of excitement needed to just immediately type up a little blurb and get the track OUT THERE! Step right up please then will you Mr Thane Russal, who just drops the nuclear rock n' roll bomb! Got a bit messy in the car last night as this one surprised me on my CD player. Good times party music. Set it off! LOUD!

We're continuing a strong recent run of 60's era posts with this terrific Soul jam from Roy C today.  Again I can only add that I'm playing this almost on repeat, such is the love that I'm feeling towards this track right now! For me this is fresh 2010 music, though the track itself is not far off from it's half century birthday. Too good! When I say dance, you best dance motherf**ker!

And so I'm off out to hear Vivaldi's Four Seasons played out by the Festive Orchestra of London tonight down at St Martin-in-the-Fields, at a night, not so surprisingly, entitled : Vivaldi Four Seasons by Candlelight. Sounds terrific, excepting for the fact that I'll be going on my bloody own! Again. Flaky mates. Too many show tickets wasted by me, and I've been wanting to do this for ages, so lets see how we get on.

Playing us out some blues today, though it's anything but the blues that I'm feeling. In fact it's my birthday tomorrow for start, with the days key number being : 30! Plus, linked to tonights post, I'll be making my way out to Charlotte Street Blues for the evening, and so thought I wouldn't do half wrong by warming myself up with this 1961 release by star guitarist and all-round music legend : Johnny 'Guitar' Watson.

Super power dance from the French masters Daft Punk today! I'm of the opinion that Daft Punk's 1996 release "Homework," album is about one of the best electronic albums ever put out, though for me the love affair kind of started and ended there. I mean Daft Punk are still as great as ever, it's just that I was happy to take on the efforts from Homework, and that was about it for me I guess.

Man am I enjoying Cowboys International! Certainly the big buzz band 'round my manor right now, thats for sure. Of course as usual this is for me a 2009 discovery, which is a pretty massive 30yrs after the release of their debut record back in 1979. So no memories, no special moments (as yet), and so no stories to tell. All I can say is cheers to Optimo for the band heads up.

A pretty damn terrific little sort of Soul type jam from Reggae legend Jimmy Cliff today. All thanks to my need for a "Venti Cappacino to go," that I ordered from a Starbucks across the road from Columbia University a couple of days ago.  You see they had this playing over the tannoy while I was standing in line to make my order, and the job was done. Love at first listen! 

I'm going fucking mental here at TSID headquarters without my soundsystem. I almost never watch the telly at home, as it's all about time in front of the computer and having the music playing as I do my thing. But as I say it's down, and has been so for about a month and a half now, and I'm really beginning to feel the strain by only being able to play a tiny bit of music through my headphones before doing so does my head in.

I am PLEASED as hell at the result I've had with this William Bell track right here! You see I'd previously only heard this once before while playing through the window as I was sitting outside drinking my Brooklyn Lager and smoking some cigarettes with the Brooklyn crew out on 22nd Street a couple weeks back. I think what first caught my ear was the intro which I recognised as having obviously been sampled on a Hip-Hop tune from a good few years back.

Bit of an unplanned Rambo special 'round TSID.com tonight all. I recalled this long overdue UK made dancehall/reggae smash from 1986 for a start. Linked then via a previous Courtney Melody upload that also mentions Rambo, and is what I believe to be a track made in response to tonights Ackie post. AND THEN I remembered this one of kind version of the Three Little Pigs by New York metal heads Green Jelly.

Quite a lovely day in an around London Town these past two days. Not exactly the warmest, though sunshines a definite. Reason enough for me to sign, seal and deliver this fitting tune by Afro-Caribbean (via Britian) funksters Osibisa. Feel good music right here people, so dont let the World Music title scare you, as it might have done for me. TSID hoping never to let you down!

Oh man am I battling to type anything! Could I mention the postal strike going on right now, and achieve a link up that way? Hmmmm... No. I guess I really just wanted to post this song as it's just too awesome for words, though if I'm pressed the as per usual brilliant/love it/excellent descriptions most definitely do apply. Honestly, such joy listening to this...

Just a kick-ass Hip-Hop joint for you today. Played this on a journey down to the South of England yesterday to test out an awesome downhill mountain bike, as well as get some riding time with some mates. Boring personal news there from TSID, though all I had to say is that this came on and I knew it was the ONE! X to the Z and Tash on guest vocalist duties here. Have a great Sunday all! I've been swapping ideas all day as to what to go with as tonights post as I drove about listening to an MP3 compilation album that I'd made a while back. Lots of great stuff to with (naturally), though it's with this beautiful (X10) love song by Soul legend Percy Sledge that the buck pretty much stopped! I dont know, my words get a bit silly as I gush over music like this, so I reckon that I'll forgo the almost over-emotional outpouring bit and just let the music do the talking.

I dont know about you, but I reckon there's something quite beautiful about this, which is not really the way you'd expect a heavy metal track to be labelled. I dont know man, searing LARGE guitar based musical soundscapes at work and all that. Bass guitar solo's, lead guitar solo's... yadda yadda yadda... it's all here simply enough. No lyrics as is "hinted," at in the title. Coming on strong!

Copped the 2007 release EP Is Is just a couple of days ago. It issssssssssss the BOMB! What the fuck YYY's?!?! Killing it, killing it, killing it, killing it, killing it, killing it, killing it, killing it, killing it, killing it, killing it, killing it, killing it, killing it, killing it, killing it, killing it, killing it, killing it... lazy type-up I know, but seriously this is all I can say about the music they put out. Rarely do I listen to full albums these days, though their stuff see's heavy rotation down here in South West 19.

Anyone else diggin' on this new Pearl Jam single!?! I've been so chuffed to have been hearing them on the radio again lately, and with good reason as this new one is pretty super. Geared just right for being played on the wireles as it measures in at a couple seconds shy of 3mins, and I'm hoping that they get a second wind again after having had the last decade or so go by fairly quietly - perhaps that's just my opinion though.

Definitely one of THE highlight tracks of my day out and about the beautiful English countryside yesterday was this superb cover of the much much much loved original by the brilliant Kate Bush. It pretty much capped off a day of new music for me as I was suprisingly put in my place by the altogether more eclectic and varied musical stylings of my lady for the day : Ms Ko.

Back with a bit of belter to help ease the pain of having your fav music blog AWOL for the past ten days. Been a bit busy doing absolutely nothing all this time, though have recently picked up a new bicycle which I have big plans to use as the catalyst for the new and improved healthy goal setting & achieving me! Part of that plan is to also get back to posting on da regular, so let's see how that goes...
