Well it's not December just yet, and I cant say that I'm feeling especially loved up at the moment, though I am a sucker for some sweet female vocals, and Mazzy Star leading lady "Hope Sandoval," delivers just perfectly. A double whammy here to by way of the superb harmonica playing by our lead vocalist combines to make this just the right sort of vibe for my cold and grey NY day indoors. Have a good one yourself, wherever you are in the world...

I pulled this off a compilation album entitled N.F.T.F.H (Not For The Faint Hearted) vol.1 that was put together for me a couple years ago by TSID site regular and supreme North LDN O.G : DeEbO. Rarely do these pages get to see any good old American hardcore (or post-hardcore??), and so I thought it would be a nice mix up for today's upload and post. I unfortunately know bugger all about the band, excepting for the few facts that I've picked up off mates over time.

" - well that's what I cribbed from another site this evening at least! And it made for a nice intro to what is a really great, and seemingly not all that well know, Led Zeppelin song.

I'm off out tonight for a few drinks with some mates to celebrate a birthday, and as I browsed through the collection quickly in search of something "punk," I came across this beautiful acoustic version of Angels Wings, by Californian punk rockers Social Distortion. So not exactly the punk rock rock-out I had planned for Monday, though a more than worthy entry regardless.

I debated doing Xbox instead of posting tonight. Then I remembered this thrashing rock attack by US band of 3. Saw them earlier this year at a very quiet night, punter wise, down at the White Heat night in Soho. 3 other bands played that night, but all I was in for was to see Jay Reatard. Thanks to Wikipedia for the following quote "Lindsey said his live show will remain energetic. "I just want it to be like an assault live, and softer on records," he said."

A truly timeless rock classic to end off the weekend. Anyone even remotely interested in rock music needs to give this a try. Every so often something comes along that just changes the way you listen to and enjoy music. This was one of those moments for me. Seriously.  7min and 29secs of supreme rock 'n roll...

Punk Rock Friday! Well today at least. Never really followed up on these guys. No reason why, I shouldn't have... but hey, I've seen them live twice, and while the more recent Electric Ballroom show was a blowout, it was the show at the Camden venue "Underworld," from July 2007, that will go down as one of my favourite gigs ever. Proper jump and shout action that night. The song is not about sex by the way. Highly Recommended! Rock!
