Kinda happy to roll with another little flashback from back in my day. This was initially one of those many many many lost club jams that smash you to pieces on the night, though are then seemingly lost for eternity in a sea of daily new releases, and no way of ever ID'ing the big records that are working your local dancefloor.

Some classic electro for your Friday I'm thinking. Mind you I did think the same thing last Friday, and so I've had to erase what I typed back then and start this one over. Looking to be a quiet one indoors for me, though that is fairly standard issue these days anyway! Well I'm hopefully getting someones party started with todays upload, and if that is the case then it's job done for me. Have a good weekend one and all!

Deep, dark and druggy we go today with this 2001 release dance track from Kompakt label man - Superpitcher. Not sure how best to sell this tune to you all, as it doesn't do all that much, though equally therein lies the magic I think. Best left to the dance music fans this one I feel. A real match for todays UK weather I feel, as the tune itself paints a feeling of a cold, grey and bleak landscape. Terrific stuff really.

Taking a trip with me back to my much loved raving days with this 1996 release proper club classic from back in the day - well my day for sure! I remember all too well hearing this belting out of the biggest set of speaker stacks this then 16yr old young kid had ever seen, let alone heard. Pounding bass! In your face! Whichever musical path I choose to follow, I'll always remember where it all started - thanks for the memories. Certified BOMB!

Now I've been wanting to drop this electrofunk jam for a minute! Cue then one sweet little early evening trip through my darker electronics over the past hour or so, and the feeling that it was time to have a switch up in styles, and I just thought - why not? No major bells and whistles on this one. Just a damn good example of a simple and effective groove that builds and builds nicely in what really is "the spirit of boogie..." Oooh... Ahhh...

Been a fair while since we dropped some Disco! on your ass, and so I thought I'd come in with a bit of a biggie in the form this 1984 release dance mix of the classic Shoot Your Shot by Divine. I'm sitting indoors with nothing to do but play some music, and this one has stood out for me as the best of the bunch so far. Hoping your weekend is a little more action packed than mine! Enjoy.

Super power dance from the French masters Daft Punk today! I'm of the opinion that Daft Punk's 1996 release "Homework," album is about one of the best electronic albums ever put out, though for me the love affair kind of started and ended there. I mean Daft Punk are still as great as ever, it's just that I was happy to take on the efforts from Homework, and that was about it for me I guess.

God damn! I be droppin' crazy ill bombs right here son! One huge as you like dancefloor ROCKER from the baddest of bad bwoy dance styles : Drum & Bass! A simple process really. Thinking it was time to flip da script musically on TSID just quick. I then went on over to the top class Drum & Bass Arena website. Had a look for their current number one selling record. Original Sin - Therapy. Test run it via a Youtube clip. Confirmed : It's fierce!

Put on y'er best dancing shoes and clear yourself some space for this one!! I've always been very keen on DJ sets that go for the proper club sound, and yeah the easier home listening stuff has it's place, but sometimes you wanna be 'avin it large in your front room too. And so if that sounds like you, then this really is yo shit right here! Recorded last year for the internet radio station Sumarai FM, though without any annoying ad's or running DJ commentary.

Around and around we go with this very simple, yet pretty effective, 2002 release dance track by French house stars Thomas Bangalter (Daft Punk) and his mate DJ Falcon. As I say it's a simple record which pretty much revolves around the looped "so much love to give," vocal sample, and thats about it. Uplifting house music. And at a nice and long 10mins & 43secs it may not be to everyone's disco tastes, but hey... feel the love!

A little dance injection from your selecta-in-chief for today methinks. I've been boshing out the DJ mixes on the car stereo since my return from NYSee a few days ago, and this dancefloor rocker has shown up on three separate occassions. So why not feature it I thought! Not exactly the most upfront track, as I think this was released around about 2007, though for the casual dance head I'm sure you'll be happy with the choice.

A classic dance jam based site update from NYC for us all with this 1996 Ghetto Zone label release from Detroit based DJ and production hero Aaron Carl. Said to be Aaron's biggest release to date (though I myself think "Dance Naked," to be my personal fav), and what a record it is too. Thanks out to a recently heard random DJ mix for the heads up reminder on this!

Damn, for such a massive D&B record it surprises me that this is so hard (read - impossible) to find. As you can see I've not provided any purchase links below, as there was just nothing out there. Try as I might, but even I myself had to go illegal for this one! Again I feel that this is a release strictly for the headz, as it doesn't pack any immediate stand out appeal, unless of course you are the type who likes it slow burning with an undercurrent air of menace.

Can I start by saying that I am totally jacking Beat Electric's shit right here. Both the excellent documentary video link below, and todays post track were originally put up on their altogether better music blog. You'll find this and two other similarly excellent tracks on there too. It's definitely a site I recommend you check out and bookmark! Over then to the tune in question. I'm not going to really add much except for that it's hot, it's banging, it's from 1989, and I love it.

Feeling the Sunday vibes with this trip into deepest space in the form of this rather large Dubstep joint from Brighton local - Riskotheque. All haunting atmospherics and chill-out sort of sounds on this one, though it just wouldn't be Dubstep if it didn't come packaged with the scenes trademark menacing BASS, and on that note this one really delivers.

  A bit late on the heads up with this one, BUT there is fundraiser / party this evening in aid of the Safe Haven Childrens Trust at 333 in the East end of LDN tonight! There'll be three floors of live music and DJ's, plus Space Invaders themed fancy dress, with fancy dress stalls, face painting and other party treats!

It has been a bloody age since I last put up a DJ mix, and I seeing as it has been so long I thought I quit messing about and throw down a mix that really is THE BUSINESS. Not only is it mixmaster supremo Erol Alkan as our selecta' (bo!) in session, but the mix is the actual original as recorded by Erol, and is not a shitty radio rip with Pete Tong talking over it and what have you. Clean as you like 2hr long banger.

An Iggy Pop & The Stooges electro cover version tonight people! Those familiar with the stunning 2ManyDJ's compilation As Heard On Radio Soulwax Vol 2 should recognise this instantly. It's definitely where I came to hear, and subsequently fall in love with, this tasty cover by our German duo Dakar & Grinser. Mad to think now that the groundbreaking album was released over 6yrs ago now... Time flying and all that. Anyway enjoy!

Bigger than big club smash from TSID today. We are however taking things back over a decade to the hey-day of my RAVE years, with this tune in particular tearing things up across the year 1998! Admittedly the track itself isn't all that busy, but it doesn't need to be as it's the vocal that sets phasers to STUN. And with us boshing things out almost every Saturday along with the club full of regulars like we did, it didn't take long for this to go on to achieve unanimous ultimate anthem status. It's a sunny morning in LDN town today, and I'm thinking this cheery little dance number by Daniel Diamond suits the backdrop just perfectly. What to do with the rest of the day though I just dont know... Hit the road, maybe. Sit at home and wait for better days, likely.
