Playing us out some blues today, though it's anything but the blues that I'm feeling. In fact it's my birthday tomorrow for start, with the days key number being : 30! Plus, linked to tonights post, I'll be making my way out to Charlotte Street Blues for the evening, and so thought I wouldn't do half wrong by warming myself up with this 1961 release by star guitarist and all-round music legend : Johnny 'Guitar' Watson.

You know I have to say that a fair amount of the older music you see posted on this site, particularly the stuff from between the 1950's to the 1980's, are all bits of music that I may have only discovered within the last year or so. Which makes bits of music like this Lightnin' Hopkins track right here one the freshest sounds coming out of my stereo. Kind of like a new release, when in fact we're actually talking about a recording made 57yrs ago in 1952!

Legendary Bluesman BB King for you all today. I must start by saying that anyone with any sort of claim towards the appreciation of REAL music should really be getting straight onto the attached Youtube clip. Admittedly it may start a little slow, but come the singing and things really begin to get interesting.  Seriously amazing vocal talents in this true heart and soul performance.
