Anyone not instantly recognising the track name should very quickly recognise the guitar chords employed, as "Rumble," has featured in many a movie over the years.

You know I have to say that a fair amount of the older music you see posted on this site, particularly the stuff from between the 1950's to the 1980's, are all bits of music that I may have only discovered within the last year or so. Which makes bits of music like this Lightnin' Hopkins track right here one the freshest sounds coming out of my stereo. Kind of like a new release, when in fact we're actually talking about a recording made 57yrs ago in 1952!

I'm going fucking mental here at TSID headquarters without my soundsystem. I almost never watch the telly at home, as it's all about time in front of the computer and having the music playing as I do my thing. But as I say it's down, and has been so for about a month and a half now, and I'm really beginning to feel the strain by only being able to play a tiny bit of music through my headphones before doing so does my head in.

Today's ace record comes via a compilation cd album that was made and given to me recently. I think for anyone this can make a pretty special gift, though for an audiophile much like myself it's pretty much up there in the as good as it gets category. A right result for me then basically. And aside from that it's worth my mentioning that on a par with the music is the attention to detail that had gone on in putting together the front cover, back cover and actual disc designs.

Dropping a little 1950's blues for you all on this Saturday morning. The only problem I have is finding some words to go with it, and as I dont have any real memories or knowledge related to building up a decent write up on the record, I'm going to instead recommend an absolutely stellar blog that does combine both angles very very well indeed, and has about the best collection of music on the net that I can think of... Legendary Bluesman BB King for you all today. I must start by saying that anyone with any sort of claim towards the appreciation of REAL music should really be getting straight onto the attached Youtube clip. Admittedly it may start a little slow, but come the singing and things really begin to get interesting.  Seriously amazing vocal talents in this true heart and soul performance.

Todays post is true 1950's Rock n' Roll. I have a lot of love for this era of music, particularly from the black artists of the time, though as far as additions to my knowledge and music collection goes, this scene/sound contributes the very least. Looking into the history behind Black Cadillac, it comes to light that this was the only ever recording made by the then 19yr old Joyce Green.

What a great day for the site stats February 17th has proved to be! None of the tracks posted to date have had as much of a click response as the La Roux upload has been getting. Very happy with that, as it got me my second ever "HOT POST" listing on that great mp3 blog aggregator website : Elbo.ws! Thank you readers!
