Kinda happy to roll with another little flashback from back in my day. This was initially one of those many many many lost club jams that smash you to pieces on the night, though are then seemingly lost for eternity in a sea of daily new releases, and no way of ever ID’ing the big records that are working your local dancefloor. This is of course the 90’s too, and the internet is nowhere near as effective in my life as it is today in help me find that special record! I kept A LOT of people (neighbours) up late as I used to play this at my dads house back in the day. He was happy for me to keep the subs reelin’ & a rockin’ even when he went off to bed. Back then I was even more into sound that I am I today, and lived every day surround by the wall to wall speakers and sub-woofer sets that I’d pieced together to form my own wall of sound. Glory days. Anyway this is a little trip down memory lane for me then.

Well a bit of week for your selector this past week. Hideously boring, that never changes, instead I had a few changes put before me such as a change of position, office and team at work. Yeah that, and I decided to throw on top a couple of my own for good measure, such as giving up the ciggies, and other fun habits that make life more interesting (though needed to go). A couple weeks back I did THIS Vivaldi post in relation to a night out with the London Festive Orchestra that I was attending. Now have a listen to this super impressive rendition by two very talented Heavy Metal musicians.

Got a sort of tribute track posting this evening. The lovely lady pictured above is moving from the nations capital, as of tomorrow, and is heading back to family, friends and better fortunes down in Southsea. I guess home really is where the heart is…
Initially I battled to come up with a fitting song, and bizarrely settled on the totally unrelated Private Psychedelic Reel by The Chemical Brothers, though another quick search brought me this spot on piece from TSID hero - Dan Sartain! Been wanting to put some of Dan’s stuff up for an absolute age too, so it’s a bit of a double whammy! Take care and all the best ALS.

I’m not very often a fan of blog bands. What is a blog band you might ask? Well it’s my own term for those bands that don’t really seem to feature on the radio, or ever really make much of a name for themselves in magazines or TV, but are still heavily blogged and often end of up with albums in the end of year “Best Of,” lists. I always find these lists to make for interesting reading, though never get around to hearing much of the music from the bands that often feature, and the bits that I do catch are often pretty crap. My opinion of course!
Anyway today’s post is on one such band, though they kind of broke the mould, because I actually caught this on the radio and have to say that I like it quite a bit. Hence the feature…

FYI - European Nationals will be on at Santa Pod raceway around the end of May! I myself have been before and it’s a cracking day out. Bring some ear plugs though!

Some classic electro for your Friday I’m thinking. Mind you I did think the same thing last Friday, and so I’ve had to erase what I typed back then and start this one over. Looking to be a quiet one indoors for me, though that is fairly standard issue these days anyway! Sorry people. I’ve not had much on the player, or on the car stereo this week, and haven’t really been feeling very musical at all!
