A pretty damn terrific little sort of Soul type jam from Reggae legend Jimmy Cliff today. All thanks to my need for a ”Venti Cappacino to go,” that I ordered from a Starbucks across the road from Columbia University a couple of days ago. You see they had this playing over the tannoy while I was standing in line to make my order, and the job was done. Love at first listen! Noted, subsequently purchased, and now presented here for all today. My only complaint is that it ends a little too abrubtly for my liking, and should have been stretched to a five minute or more workout.
Backing singers, an organ, plus the heartfelt lyrics of main man Jimmy Cliff combined beautifully.

it’s classic… i’m sure you know “the harder they come” by jimmy cliff. i’ve been searching for years for the original 1971 or 1972 soundtrack version. when you listen to that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGE4dnrPPZQ you can hear this version’s got a heavy fronted bass line… i just got the mp3 version of the soundtrack, but it sounds different, without that heavy bass line…
