I have loads and loads of respect for scratch DJ’s. Too rarely do I get to experience their stuff live, though on those rare occassions I’m pretty much always blown away by their creativity, as well as the skill employed in making it all come together in the way that they do. I mean who’s never given a deck a quick little cut when the chance presented itself?? I used to do it on my dads standard issue hi-fi turntable back in the day, and granted it always sounded shit, but you always hoped you’d sound, and look, as cool… Best left to the experts methinks!
Anyway it’s that single statement that leads me on to tonights post, which is proper album release track by Canadian DJ - Kid Koala, that’s been put together on the wheels of steel! Now this is one of those tracks I often forget about, but at the same time I have to say that on every single occassion that I do a scan through the collection and I spot this, it definitely gets played. Love the work going on here, and what I’m really chuffed about is the fact that I’ve got this live video recording for you, so that you get to see how it all comes together. First time for me tonight too!
